The 16-week IGCSE programme (Cambridge)
About Lesson

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

1- Getting ready

Before creating your French revision timetable, take into consideration 3 factors:

-your current level in French (refer to your “GCSE French personalized learning checklist”)

-your exam date

-your goal

For instance, if you ticked in red more  than 70 percent of your checklist  is red ( for the category “I don’t know”) and your exam is in 4 months, it is very important to plan ahead in consequence. Share it with me if you need help.

Once you have your French study plan, try not to skip 2 revision days in a row. 1 day is ok, it’s normal but 2 days can quickly become a habit and it may be hard to get back on track. It is important for your psychology to stick on your timetable and learn at a regular time weekly.

You will need at least 3 months ahead to complete this programme as it requires repetition to see effective results. After that, once I am sure you are on the right path, you can either decide to carry on for longer for more support or you can practice on your own. I want to give you the key to success.

This program will give you the key to succeed in your exam and in order to apply these keys in your learning, you need time, repetition and effort. Depending on your current level and needs for this exam, you really need to think deeply on how much time you are going to dedicate to French to get this top grade.

This is why if you want to start with this program, it is very important that you plan extra time for your study. Without all of that, you won’t get any result.

2-My French study plan

Remember: in Module 1, you define your goal and motivation which is “you big why”. In order to achieve it, you need to set up realistic expectations that will take into consideration your busy timetable including your school time, hobbies and any other commitments. As mentioned in the previous modules, it’s important to adopt good study habits as it requires time and effort over the long term.

Now, it’s time to set a weekly study routine for a Grade 9 French student. You will create fun methods and a tailor-made study plan which you will create according to your individual needs and daily schedule. Thanks to this plan, you will always know what and when to learn and you will save lots of precious time in return.
