Fall in LOVE with… French!
Have fun whilst learning and broaden your knowledge To truly master and perfect your French, you need to immerse yourself in the culture and be exposed to the language as much as you can. And to do so, you will need to implement French in your daily life. In order not to make it a chore, you can simply associate it with something fun and you enjoy! In such a way, you will expand your cultural knowledge whilst developing your French skills. You not only learn something new but also enrich your French vocabulary with interesting expressions. If you enjoy and are more interested in your learning process, you will be more likely to succeed.

About Lesson

Every person learns differently. This is why it is important that before going to study or learn more things in French, you need to find your own learning style. Do you learn by listening? or maybe do you prefer learning with images?

There are 3 popular learning styles which are:

-visual ; you like seeing or reading.

-auditory: you prefer listening or talking

-tactile: you prefer touching and doing

For the visual learning style, students like to:

-sit in front of the classroom (or in the front rows)

-use flashcard to learn new words or expressions

-try to visualize things that they hear or that are read to them

-write down key words, ideas, or instructions

-draw pictures to help explain new concepts and then explain the pictures to themselves or someone

-color code

-be in a quiet environment while studying, without distraction

Basically, their best way to learn new things is by seeing.

For the auditory learning style, students like to:

-use flashcards to learn new words

-studying new material out loud

-read stories, assignments, directions or words out loud

-record themselves while spelling new words and then listening to their recording

BAsically, their best way to learn new things is by hearing

For the tactile learning style, students like to :

-participate in activities that include touching, drawing.

-do hands-on activities (ex; acting our stories)

-use flashcards and showing relationships between them

-take frequent breaks during studying or revision periods

-using a computer to have this feeling of touch

Basically, their best way to learn new things is by doing

Exercice

What is you learning style? Or in other words, what is the best way for you to learn and retain what you have just learned?

It is important to know how to optimize your revision techniques. To do so, you need to find effective methods which you can use systematically over a period of time in a way which you enjoy.

To help you answering this question, you can open the PDF called “Identify your learning style” on the “exercises file” on the right top of your screen. Feel free to share it with me!
